This is really interesting. I had no idea that hobos had/have their own code language. It’s like a big club. “Religious talk will get you a meal here.” Ha!
Thanks, Rach!there was a band in memphis called “man with gun lives here” and in turn that sign was spraypainted everywhere (like abandoned bldgs, grocery stores)— i worried as a kid that the work of zealous fans was really screwing with the heads of hobos.
I like “Kind woman lives here. Tell a pitiful story” and “The sky’s the limit”. This makes me wonder if I’ve ever seen these symbols before and simply passed them by not knowing their meaning.
A good BBC article on the physics behind guitar amplification and the most important effect since the introduction of the electric guitar - distortion.
For me there’s no better sound than a fuzzed-out, muddy E-chord.
- Giant football to spike every time a major project is finished
- A riff-ready guitar for those moments when I solve a complex/annoying problem - BWEEE-NERRRR-NEEEEEOOWWWWW!!
Steve Winwood - Valerie
This song will forever remind me of last weekend. Thanks Kevin and Cory.
Young Steve Winwood looks so much like Conan O’Brien. Right?
Drink #2
(via all we need is sleep)
The calm before the storm, indeed. I’m proud to say that Table 11 was the loudest of all.
8 bottles of champagne later.
Canandaigua, NY
I’m headed back to the hometown for a long weekend and a wedding. And hopefully some quality time with this pretty lady right here.
